Card Souls 3

Card Souls 3 is a card version of Dark Souls.

Use "clicks" to do all the actions, attack, dodge, use Estus Flask, and try to beat the "Iudex Gundyr Card" !

 

As a Soul game fan, I enjoy the "Soul" experience very much. So I tried to analyze the formal aspects in Soul games, break down the elements and actions that make the Soul experience so captivating. This intention leads to the creation of this game, to break down the boss fight with Iudex Gundyr from Dark Souls 3 into its fundamental action components, then replicate this encounter in a simplified card format. In Card Souls, you can interact through clicks to simulate the basic actions in Soul games, such as attacking, moving, using the Estus Flask, and dodging.

I believe that I've been able to replicate, to a certain extent, the feel and experience of the Gundyr boss fight. This includes aspects such as the rhythm of defeating Gundyr, various nuances actions, the mastering curve(able to get more and more HP of Gundyr as you replay more and more times), the "greedy" moment (when Gundyr only has a few HP but you died), and the low health outplay as well.

1 - You are moving within a circular space centered on Gundyr  /  the 8 movement space cards

2 - The different attack patterns of Gundyr  /  different attack area in card souls

3 - Player's actions generally require a specific action time, and once the action is made, it cannot be stopped midway  /  the player progress bar

4 - the feeling of dodge to avoid damage  /  the timing of the player progress bar and Gundyr progress bar has a 1 sec interleave
